Anglesey coastal plans put on display
BY Pete Hayman

Coastal facilities at Moel y Don, near Brynsiencyn, and Bull Bay, near Amlwch, are set to benefit from a £200,000 improvement project unveiled by the Isle of Anglesey County Council (IACC).

Plans to upgrade existing infrastructure forms part of the council's wider £5.6m Coastal Environment Project and aim to help improve the island's image as a tourist destination.

Repairs and improvements will be carried out to an existing stone jetty as part of proposals to improve facilities at Moel y Don, which have been put on display at Brynsiencyn Community Hall today (8 February).

Meanwhile, plans to upgrade the slipway, improve the sea wall and carry out environmental work to the seating area at Bull Bay will go on display at Bull Bay Golf Club on 10 February.

IACC's portfolio holder for economic development and tourism, Bryan Owen, said: "This project will deliver in terms of improving the appeal and reputation of Anglesey as a tourist destination and provide facilities which will sustain the overall quality of the island's coastal towns and villages."

In addition to council funding, the European Regional Development Fund and the Welsh Assembly Government's Môn a Menai Programme and Targeted Match Fund have contributed towards the scheme.
